Lots of change for Sugar Hill in 2019. Our longtime resident Aeronca, Taylorcraft and Cessna 152 are here no more. New arrivals/replacements include a Cessna 172 and a Rans S-6ES. Congrats to those pilots/owners on their new rides!

Currently, a powered parachute is flying off our runway on a regular basis. They'll be moving to their own field when it's ready. Keep an eye out for them!

Congrats to N4747Z, and her owner, on a textbook maiden test flight after recently getting her airworthiness certificate! I'm sure she'll be flying for decades to come. Check the gallery for her pic. Safe travels 47Z!

Due to a change in FAA rules, Sugar Hill will no longer use 122.75 as a traffic advisory frequency. The new frequency is 122.9 per the AIM2020 TBL 4-1-1. We had been operating per the instructions of FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 90-42F, which specified 122.75 for private airports. That AC was canceled in September 2018. That leaves only the AIM to provide guidance, and that guidance is 122.9 for airports without a tower, and without a published frequency.
